Anne N. Phillips, DMCP
President, Phillips DMC

Anne has been in travel and tourism for 35 years. She began her career as a tour guide for Marjorie Phillips Tours, a business, founded by her mother in law. Over the years, as Phillips Tours expanded, Anne became involved in sales, marketing and administration. In 1998 she assumed ownership and became president. Since then, the company expanded and was renamed Phillips DMC to better reflect the services provided.  As a member of ADME, the Association of Destination Management Executives, and Anne was the first person in the State of Virginia to earn the highly regarded Destination Management Certified Professional certification. From large-scale event production for 400 association members and military ship commissioning events with presidential appearances  to multi-day tours and programs for 1,200 cruise ship passengers, Anne has been servicing clients for over three decades. She serves on the boards of the Downtown Norfolk Council, the Greater Norfolk Corporation, and the City of Norfolk’s Civic Facilities Commission. She is a former board member of Visit Norfolk and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce. She is an annual guest speaker at Norfolk State University’s Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management. A lifelong resident of Norfolk, Anne attended East Carolina University and graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Brooke Phillips Garrett
Vice President, Phillips DMC

Brooke joined Phillips DMC in 2006 and has more than 15 years of experience in tourism, marketing and events. As Vice President, Brooke oversees all operations, program management and client services for the company. For the past eight years she has created and executed programs for clients such as Sumitomo’s international sales meeting, Metro Aviation and Lionel Train Collectors Club of America’s annual conventions, the official commissioning of the USS George H.W. Bush CVN-77, and dozens of high-end international cruise lines. Prior to Phillips DMC, Brooke worked in marketing at The Virginia Port Authority and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. She is a member of VAMPI (Virginia Association of Meeting Planners International) and has served on the annual meeting planning committee for hundreds of its members. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Norfolk NATO Festival. In 2010 Brooke was honored as a “Top 40 Under 40” by Inside Business. She has a BS from James Madison University and studied at the British Institute in Florence, Italy.

Shannon Heisler
Operations Manager, Phillips DMC

Shannon has worked in destination management for more than 12 years. She began her career at Panache Destination Management Services, Inc. in Hawaii where she served as Account Administrator. In this role she worked with Fortune 500 clients such as AT&T, Cisco, Google, Pepsi and Toyota and major associations managing all the logistics of their incentive programs for groups from 50 to 1,000. The services she administered included large-scale event production at five-star hotels and group sight-seeing tours to team building programs and scavenger hunts. Shannon has been with Phillips DMC for seven years. During this time she has become an invaluable member of the team managing operations, logistics and vendor relationships for more than 200 clients including corporations, associations and cruise lines. Shannon has a B.S. from Ohio University.
